Our hitch racks are generally compatible with Class I, Class II, Class III and Class IV hitch receivers. Class V are currently not supported as a result of needing additional adapters and alternative hardware to accommodate the oversized receiver.
Class I receivers will accommodate 1 1/4" racks with a tongue weight capacity of 200lbs. This configuration is common for small or mid-size cars. Ebikes would be supported on the Freedom or Superclamp 2 bike models.
Class II receivers will accommodate 1 1/4" racks with a tongue weight capacity of 350lbs. This configuration is common for mid to full size cars. Ebikes would be supported on the Freedom or Superclamp 2 bike models.
Class III receivers will accommodate all Saris hitch racks with a tongue weight capacity of 800lbs. This configuration is most common for trucks and vans, carrying bikes up to the 60lbs-per-bike weight limit respectively on applicable tray style racks.
Class IV receivers will accommodate all Saris hitch racks with a tongue weight capacity of 1000-1200lbs. This configuration is most common for trucks, carrying bikes up to the 60lbs-per-bike weight limit respectively on applicable tray style racks.
Note: 1.5" is required from hitch pin hole center to the end of the receiver to accommodate all of our hitch racks.
